6 Weeks of Summer: Carnival Day (in conjunction with Kemp Town Carnival) - Sunday 23 July

Relax to the sound of samba! In conjunction with Kemp Town Carnival, a number of Samba bands will lead you along Brighton seafront onto Brighton Palace Pier and into Horatio's Family Bar for an afternoon of soulful sounds and samba music.

The carnival starts at 11am at the Fortune of War Pub.

Come in fancy dress and you will receive 1/2 price off Brighton Palace Pier's special Latin/Caribbean cocktails!

Bands in Horatio's:

1pm - The Madelyn Soul Band

The Madelyn Soul Band is keenly influenced by classic soul artists such as, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder and Etta James, whilst also drawing influences from new contemporary artists like Leon Bridges, who keeps alive the old-school sound. The band brings the funk with fantastic vocals and harmonies, immersing the audience in the true experience of classic soul.

3pm - Pollito Boogaloo

Translating as ‘little dancing chicken’ the Pollito Boogaloo boys deliver raw Afro-Colombian roots music drawing from classic 60s Cumbia, Vallenato and Puya and mixing in a little dub and some Haitian voodoo! Fronted by charismatic Colombian vocalist Rafael Berrio. Pollito are one of Brighton's most loved Latin roots bands.
